Pros
5% discount on groceries, sometimes customers and staff are nice
Cons
- Very low remuneration - full-time employees required to work 40-42 hours per week as per contract, but always only paid for 38 hours. Many employees were regularly working 50+ hours a week with no additional compensation. - Management at all stores in all departments are passive aggressive - it comes from the top down - Management tends to passive-aggressively cut hours if an employee calls in sick or otherwise does something 'wrong' - Favouritism culture - Can't call in sick as always short staffed, made to feel bad even if you're unwell and always forced to provide a doctor's certificate - Company would rather spend money on gimmicky game shows and over-the-top marketing strategies than appropriately compensate the employees they claim to care so much about.
