Pros

Pay is decent, flexibility of schedule depends on how your GM runs things, you get a nice variety in day-to-day operations because everyday is different (for better or worse). The new bonus structure is hit or miss but if you make it bonus you can get a nice chunk of change 2x a year. They try to promote internally VS externally (I started in breakfast 4 years ago and within 2 years I was AGM) They value experience over college degree but that is kind of dependent on your RM and the market you are in. It is still mostly family owned so they value their frontline team more than most retail/hospitality companies. Ultimately some days I love it some days I hate it.

Cons

Long hours. You are contracted for 45 but for me personally it's always more like 55-60. Annual raises are usually 3-5% depending on your metrics. It can definitely be political, depends on who you know in Drury already and their opinions. They want you to drink the koolaid. The expectations are VERY high for the pay in my opinion. It's easy to get burnt out and overwhelmed. Depending on your GM and how they run the building you not only have to focus on your department but keep 27 tabs open in your brain for whatever is going on in the building ATM and on your shift. Guests have very high expectations also and the negative will get to you if your building is going through a tough time (for whatever reason that might be). Team culture in the building seems to be dependent on the local area your hotel is in and what kind of people work there. Drury really wants you to focus on team and build a good culture but that varies from location to location it seems to me and sometimes you can do everything under the sun to please them but it won't be enough. Everyone always wants more, money hours etc and with your SLI labor standards most of the time you can't make that happen which can honestly be really disheartening. And some of the policies are very lenient making it hard to discipline. They always want to keep turnover down but not all turnover is bad.

Pros

Good management communication, ability to work other positions to keep the job exciting, good perks like staying at the hotel during inclement weather.

Cons

The brand is still less well known than the major brands so people look confused when you explain where you work. It also makes using your perks hard because Drury's arent as widespread.
