Pros

Flexibility - I can schedule my work around my families schedule. Variety - I have the choice of several schools when I feel the need to switch things up and want to work at a different school. Training - I receive the necessary training needed to be an early childhood educator. Pay - I get paid more at ECE Substitutes as a substitute teacher. I also love I get paid every week. Friendly Staff - The ECE Substitutes staff is friendly and accommodating. They really work hard to ensure an assignment fits my schedule.

Cons

They do not offer health benefits but I do have health benefits on my own.

Pros

The process is very easy: you do a phone interview and once you get hired, you have to upload all your required documents and then you're cleared to start accepting assignments. There is a lot of flexibility as you can CHOOSE where and when you want to work through their app. So far 2 of the locations I went to were great and I was able to choose more assignments there. Then there was one location that I did not feel comfortable with, so I called the support staff, who were very responsive and supportive. They heard out my complaints and told me that I never have to go back and cancelled the two days that I was assigned to go there. Pay is also at the higher end of the ECE range even compared to other temp agencies. However, there are no benefits or guarantees of work and you're not eligible for unemployment if the jobs dry up. That's okay with me because I get my health insurance through another source. You do have the chance to accumulate paid sick and vacation days though.

Cons

As of now, there are somewhat limited choices for places in San Jose (only seen 3 schools so far within my 10-mile range) but that's understandable as they have just expanded to the Bay Area. Fortunately, I'm getting a recurring 3 day a week assignment at one of those locations and opting to keep the other 2 days as my personal time but occasionally will take another job on one of those 2 days if something really appealing pops up.
