Pros
Nice push towards green energy at least at my level of knowledge. Nice life balance as one can ask for remote work one day a week. Nice desk atmosphere and physical mobility.
Cons
Horrible consideration for developers. At least in my group in Engie IT division, they have little consideration for developers. Not seen as the backbone of Engie digital transition, but low profiles besides Data scientists, or data engineers or any other sexy status. On the run for digitalisation, pouring much money on cloud solutions, where a python, Java, JavaScript,... developer is literally seen like a pipe builder. The data scientist would do the real study to unravel hidden realities. A business analyst would present the full work finally, Champaign Champaign. On a rush on a rush horribly. A functional button is seen as a button as it appears in a webpage, nothing more. Huge money on packaged solutions with minimal salary, as you go for first job experience, you don't have time to review salary hoping for more in near future. Salary is horrible, unimaginable, around 2,5k monthly for a backend junior developer in Paris working on dozens of billions project. A junior would stay junior after two years without consideration. One with a Business school or a management background -junior- at entrance is paid way more than a developer. Wow that was a bad dream. Personally, it was literally collègues and heads sabotaging my AI degree, that I make things done in one way or another, instead of some expensive cloud solution.
