Pros

Sr. Management team is a group of very smart and highly ethical people. Work is challenging.

Cons

There needs to be some sort of advancement for long termnon-degreed employees who have proven themselves to be outstanding performers. The mind-set in my discpline is if you have no degree....you are stuck...no matter how smart one is or how much a person contributes or the level of responsibility they have. If the person is a proven perfomer and has more responsibility than their other non-degreed counterparts there should be some level they can strive for.

Pros

The benefits were excellent, including medical, dental, and vision coverage. When I was hired in 2010, PTO was determined by a combination of age and tenure. By the time I left in December 2016, I had accumulated about five weeks of vacation.

Cons

In 2017, upper management decided to close the Tyler, TX division, which had been operating for at least 17 years. I had planned to retire from EOG, but that decision changed everything. I was given the choice to relocate or be laid off. Because I could not afford the cost of moving, I was laid off, which had a significant negative impact on my life. It took me more than two years to find another job in the oil and gas industry in Tyler, TX.
