Pros

Open minded, plenty of responsibility, fast paced, focused on returns and long term growth along with options for advancement for some

Cons

Too focused on cutting costs gets in the way of core business and actually hurts the bottom line. Too many sub groups/departments with too much competition

Pros

The benefits were excellent, including medical, dental, and vision coverage. When I was hired in 2010, PTO was determined by a combination of age and tenure. By the time I left in December 2016, I had accumulated about five weeks of vacation.

Cons

In 2017, upper management decided to close the Tyler, TX division, which had been operating for at least 17 years. I had planned to retire from EOG, but that decision changed everything. I was given the choice to relocate or be laid off. Because I could not afford the cost of moving, I was laid off, which had a significant negative impact on my life. It took me more than two years to find another job in the oil and gas industry in Tyler, TX.
