Pros
Having spent years growing together with the company, being a witness in it's development from a SME to a listed corporation, this is what I have observed so far. - Tight knit: The colleagues in my department are like a second family to me. After all, we spend almost everyday together. - All are welcomed, no barriers: Newcomers are quickly welcomed into the group and ties are fostered. Many staff rejoined the team after their ventures to other companies out of curiosity or in seek of higher pay. Most of those who left, commented that other than the pay, the environment here is still the best, be it the people or the work. - Selfless sharing: Our team leaders are always willing to show us the ropes and impart new knowledge to us, engage in on-job training and answering to our queries patiently. No pushing of blame when mistakes were made. We learn together, we grow together. - Positive environment: Everyone plays a part in creating a positive working environment. My team leaders are understanding and offers support when the staff encountered personal issues that may need some special work arrangements. - For the staff: The management welcomes all forms of feedback from staff and seeks to build an even better company for everyone, such as by improving staff benefits. We may not have the best staff benefits out there, but definitely better than the average company. - Overview: To be honest, I did not expect that I will be with the company for so long. I truly enjoy working in my current scope and with my team. I look forward to continue building my career with the company for the many years to come. This is just my 2 cents worth of humble opinion.
Cons
There's no perfect companies in this realistic world. - Life is a mirror: You cannot expect others to treat you with respect if you do not show them the same respect in the first place. Likewise, no effort, no gain. If one does not understand this, it will be the same, no matter where you go. - Be realistic: There will always be some disputes/loud discussions, no matter where you work, unless the world only revolves around you. Sometimes, the loud discussion is just part of that person's working style with no ill-intentions meant. - Manage your expectations: You cannot expect a very high pay to come hand in hand with a great working environment. The pay here is not on the high side, but it's not on the low side either. But of course, if the pay can be higher, it will be like icing on a cake in this imperfect world.
