Pros
Personally I feel that it is an exciting time to work at ERM now as I am able to be part of an important transformation journey that the company is going through. Being part of a change process and being able to contribute to it is very exciting and it tells me that ERM is up for the new challenges ahead of us. ERM launched the new 5 year strategies last year and introduced a new operating model that allows our consultants to focus on client outcome. The initiative to embark on digital tools to modernise the way we deliver services is very encouraging too. Changes are happening and it will probably take the next 6 - 12 - 18 months to see results at different levels but I am pleased that I work for a company that is full of energy and wants to change.
Cons
The nature of consulting business means that consultants, as one progresses in one's career, he/she becomes more specialised in certain areas. Whilst it is good to have specialised areas of expertise, one can sometimes feel a bit difficult to broaden in to other areas. I would be interested to see how the new mechanism we put in place works.
