Pros

Etherstack is an absolutely outstanding company, both from an Engineering and a Personal perspective. Engineering: A lot of admiration and respect for what Etherstack does. Very interesting field, with a lot of opportunities for learning really cool stuff and develop a wide variety of skills. Personal: People are just really nice and there's an exceptionally good environment at the office. Also the Engineers are some of the smartest and kindest people I've met, super helpful and with a very good sense of teamwork. Management's attitude has also been impeccable. I had to face a very serious personal issue outside of Etherstack and the response from Management was mind-blowing, extremely supportive and understanding.

Cons

Not easy to think about the cons. Maybe the size of the company if you don't like DIY environments, but I guess a lot of people would actually consider that a pro.

Pros

- Etherstack has offices all over the world, and customers all over the US and beyond. If you enjoy travelling, there's plenty of opportunity here. - Etherstack is constantly innovating, and creating new products. Don't get too comfortable with the project you're working on, you'll probably be working on a new one next quarter! - I'm disagreeing with another reviewer on this one. Because the company is so small and geographically dispersed, there is plenty of opportunity for job-diversification. An Etherstack employee will find themselves "wearing many hats." Developers don't just write code, they participate at every stage in the process. You'll participate in sales-proposals. You'll be deploying the product (both hardware and software!) on customer sites. You'll be providing direct post-sales customer support and training.

Cons

- Just like another reviewer mentions, the pace of innovation can mean that a lot of projects get only half done, or you have to drop what you're doing entirely to move onto whatever the current critical project is.

Pros

- Engineers are really knowledgeable and passionate about their trade and craft and are readily willing to teach you - Senior and principal engineers are always willing and available to teach you about proper design and code - Excellent medical benefits, vacation time

Cons

- Little time is afforded to go back to existing code and fix it up. Instead, emphasis is on getting out the next product for a customer. - Geographical sparseness of company offices makes arranging meetings very difficult at times
