- Hall Monitor that checks if you’re on your cell phone and reports it back to the CEO if you are - Nightly call with sales team that starts at 5:30PM Eastern and goes often times over an hour - Incredibly low pay, commission structure has many hidden items to ensure you will not be paid well Do not work at this company, it is truly a mistake and a waste of time. Pros

Working at EarthCam has been a genuinely positive and supportive experience, both professionally and personally. One of the things that stands out most is how accessible and practical leadership is. Expectations are clearly communicated, questions are answered directly, and feedback is constructive and timely. I’ve personally experienced managers taking the time to explain priorities, help problem-solve when challenges come up, and focus on solutions rather than blame. EarthCam also shows real flexibility and trust. I’ve been able to work from home frequently, which has made a huge difference in my ability to balance work and family life. When my child has needed me, the company has been understanding and supportive, allowing me to adjust my schedule while still meeting my responsibilities. That level of flexibility isn’t just talked about—it’s genuinely practiced. The company does hold people to clear performance standards. From what I’ve observed, feedback is given early and fairly, and people are given opportunities to improve. Many of the negative reviews online appear to come from former employees who were no longer with the company after expectations weren’t met. That context doesn’t reflect the experience of employees who are engaged, accountable, and committed to doing their jobs well. For those who take ownership of their work, want to grow, and value direct communication, EarthCam is a place where effort is noticed, trust is earned, and flexibility is real. It’s a company that supports its employees as professionals and as people—and that’s why many choose to stay long-term.

Cons

High expectations and accountability
EarthCam is not a place to coast. Expectations are clear and performance matters, which can feel demanding for people who prefer a more hands-off or slower-paced environment. Fast-moving priorities
Because the company is growing and innovative, priorities can shift quickly. This requires flexibility and strong communication skills, which may take time to adjust to. Direct feedback culture
Feedback is honest and straightforward. While this helps people grow, it can feel intense at first if you’re used to softer or less direct communication styles. Lean teams mean wearing multiple hats
Teams are efficient and lean, so employees are often trusted with broader responsibilities. This is great for learning and growth, but it can feel challenging if you prefer very narrow roles. Structure favors self-starters
EarthCam works best for people who take initiative and manage their time well. Those who need constant direction may find the environment challenging.

Pros

There are literally no pros to this company.

Cons

This place is a literal dystopian hell hole. I know the job market has been really tough and I have been struggling to find a good place to work for a long while that I was hesitant to take this job because of all of the negative reviews. I really wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt. However, I have miscalculated my judgement and good faith so far like I have never made such a terrible mistake like this in my life. Everyone is policed as soon as you enter the building or around the building you are constantly being watched. Everyone is somehow policing each other and feels like a fortress where there are sentries at each square inch of the area. You are never allowed to use your cellphone. You are supposed to clock in and out every single time you leave your desk for any reason or at the beginning of your shift or before. Also, you have to be very sure that you cannot absolutely clock in one second earlier or one second before your shift. I promise you it is no exaggeration. The micromanagement is also insane. This place really feels like they feast on the young and unknowing, however I am already a seasoned professional who picked up on this the first day on the job. I tried everything possible to be happy and positive high energy to shed some light on this dark place but wow, there is nothing saving this. The offer letter was also a massive slap in the face with terrible low pay. Everything about it was the absolute worst I have ever experienced in my life. I had more fun working at a factory warehouse than working here and that really says a lot. I would highly caution joining this company and don't be a fool like me who ignored the reviews before signing the offer letter. Trust me, it is not worth your sanity especially if you already have years under your belt, you can absolutely do better even if you are desperate for money. Do everything possible to not even bother with this company, you will do much better elsewhere, anywhere else.
