Pros
Flexible work schedule and excellent work/home balance. Reasonable compensation for workload. Enough extra time for professional development, if desired, as self-study. Low employee turnover rates make for a long-term family atmosphere.
Cons
The need for perceived consensus slows nearly every process down. Over time, the amount of acceptable output per employee drops well below where expectations would be at other places of employment. Culture is a mix of hardcore cynicism and those trying to promote positivism, but cynics often poison the atmosphere. Most attempts to enact change are met with a "good luck with that" attitude from employees. UAW perpetuates adversarial relationship between employees and management.
