Pros
In terms of compensation in the executive ranks, I cannot complain, they are competitive. Depending on division/operation, you do have the ability to manage medium to large operations. You even have an opportunity to manage globally if you can make it up beyond the Operations level.
Cons
HR has more voice than most other companies, but if you have a weak HR person then whatever management wants, goes. Leaders, depends on what clique you are from determines to some extent your longevity. Overall, they tend to reward mediocre talent at times and overlook those in the trenches really making it happen.
