People, no matter how talented, do not last long here with a year being about average. Several consultants and clients are open about the fact that they keep lists of how many people rotate in and out of projects and the Owner has on occasion joked about the short tenure she expects from new hires. Unfortunately the Owner alienates both clients and staff with arbitrary and unfair approaches to the work. She always believes that she is right and would rather replace those who thoughtfully and intelligently disagree or see better ways to do things than listen. If she does not fire a person outright she makes life unbearable for them by undermining their authority with project teams and clients, publicly insulting and belittling them, and inappropriately and unfairly blaming them for issues over which they have no control until they quit. Few can take this for long.
