People are very friendly. I felt welcomed in their office. When I needed help with something, there was always a colleague available to help out and explain. Easy to communicate with your superiors.

It was sad that there was no opportunity for a long-term position with this company and it was an unpaid internship.

ECE is a non-profit organization that exists in an industry of for-profit companies doing much of the same work and this distinction attracts a wonderful mix of socially conscious employees that really care about their work, their customers, and their professional field. Employees are generally very highly valued and good work is rewarded with loyalty.

A recent work slow down, caused by being behind competitors in a certain area of service (soon to be rectified) meant a downsizing that I was a victim of, but I feel a turn around is forthcoming and am sorry I will not be a part of it. The use of open source software, proprietary software and unique systems means that, if you should leave, you will not learn as many transferable skills as you would in another company.
