It's Not Good - Developer Edwards Lifesciences Employee Review

Pros

Laid-back workplace, managers don't put much pressure on you

Cons

Working at Edwards isn't great, especially in IT. Managers have too many direct reports (up to 20 people), they don't know what's happening in their teams, and they can't support you because they're spread too thin. Global teams work across 4 different time zones, but it's a mess: if you have a question in Europe, you have to wait up to nine hours (basically until the end of your day) for someone in California to answer you, which blocks everything - and vice versa. People in teams are constantly being moved around and changed, destabilizing the entire structure and way of working. They made us take week-long Scrum/Agile courses, and then literally two weeks later, they replaced people with others who had no clue what Scrum was. Finally, in September 2024, they fired 400-500 people without any warning or support. The layoffs seemed totally random, with entire teams disappearing overnight.
