Limited Conversion to Full-Time Roles
- Despite consistently doing my best throughout the internship, motivated by my supervisor’s encouragement that high performing interns could be hired; there were ultimately no positions available for anyone in our batch. We were later told this was due to budgeting issues, and even after our internship ended, no interns were converted to full-time roles. This was disappointing, especially for those of us hoping to continue our journey with Edwards.
Repetitive Tasks & Project Availability
- Interns who aim to maximize their learning and exposure might find the experience at Edwards somewhat limited, depending on the availability and scope of ongoing projects. In my case, while I was involved in real projects, many of the tasks became repetitive over time. Initially, it was a good learning curve, but it did start to feel monotonous. I overcame this by actively communicating with my team and volunteering for additional tasks which helped diversify my experience.
Lack of Clear Path for Contract Workers
During my internship, I also noticed that several contract workers despite delivering strong, consistent performance; had their contracts repeatedly renewed without being offered permanent positions. This raised concerns about long-term job security and career progression, especially for those looking for stability within the company.
