Bad company to work for if you look for a sustainable job - Software Engineer Elbit Systems Employee Review

Pros

Salary tends to be high (higher than the market) but you should not expect bonuses for hard or out of the ordinary work, which is expected of you.

Cons

You are expected to perform at above average level all the time with a huge impact on personal life (high stress and long extra hours). Acceptance bar is very high (psychometric and other exams), and part of salary is made correlated to performance via reviews. You will likely be involved in big projects resulting in big (should say BIG) revenues for the company, but this will not be reflected in any way in your personal salary (there will be no reward besides what was agreed at the time of signing the contract). No stock options or other participation in the company's revenue stream is available to workers. The company has a strong military culture that is impossible to pierce if you do not have the proper background etiquette. This military culture defines the company, and gives it a steep pyramidal shape of management. It is nearly impossible to progress to higher layers (there is one manager for every few workers), which means that you are likely to get stuck in your entry position for quite some time.
