Pros
Friendly and helpful colleagues, leadership/management that are easy to talk to, good mix of people, nice location e.g parking and next to a cafe, flexible working hours and lunch, good support for new uniform and PPE, nice social events e.g. summer BBQs and christmas parties, lovely volunteer work for charities that really help you embrace the community feel and teamwork, happy to spend money and listen to our needs/recommendations/grievances, easy to take holiday and sick pay, also well informed about business directions and sales if youre interested in that kind of thing.
Cons
A more structured organised training system/competency with appropriate progression instead of being thrown in the deep end to swim or drown which entail consistent time delegated each week e.g. Tuesday/Wednesday afternoons. Certain colleagues are given very high workloads and under a lot of pressure but isnt reflected in their pay unfortunately especially due to our location in hitchin being so expensive. Hopefully in the future big exepenses are watched more closely under a watchful eye and certain blocks are put in place which lead to proper discussions therefore ensuring purchases and expensiture are well thought out and not excessive, however dont want it to become too much of a roadblock. Not a fan of the low yearly wage increase and low OKR percentage. In addition, a lot of site tours from higher ups with is good for increased budget but rather distracting and repetitive. Losing our monthly pizzas/paid lunch after the big town halls wasnt great if thats too expensive now maybe a vote amongst colleagues on what snack to eat, doesnt have to be expensive pizzas, was a big fan of the bacon rolls or sausage and beans because I can admit even though the dominos pizza was on a lunch time business deal it was an expensive luxury but if targets /profits are being hit whats wrong with a little thank you. Furthermore, too many meetings and too worried about lab looking clean instead of actually improving it/making it easier and more effient for colleagues
