Pros

Plenty of nice people, a lot of opportunities for team bonding. The product and the problem it's trying to solve, at least in theory, are interesting. Some teams enjoy fairly hands-off management and plenty of autonomy.

Cons

The company is struggling to find its footing against several competitors who are doing the same thing, but better. As an engineer or PMM, this could be exciting because there's room for improvement. If you're in sales or marketing, you might feel frustrated that you're peddling a product that's all show and no (or little) substance. Constant pivoting to different priorities is lauded as "dynamic" and "just how a fast-growing startup operates." In fact it suggests that the company doesn't really have a clue what it's doing. And an obvious downside to this that other reviews have already pointed out is the regular, unexplained layoffs. Even with the above, I would've happily given this company 3 stars. However, there's a huge con that's hard to overlook: an ugly culture. Meetings sometimes turn into gossip sessions about coworkers, and even managers participate in the backbiting. I noticed a lot of passive aggressive behavior that I've never seen in any company, before or since. On the surface, the casual and lighthearted culture Elementum is so proud of seems welcoming. But there's a fine line between being casual and being unprofessional. Elementum's culture crosses that line on a regular basis. If you miss high school, you might enjoy working here.

Pros

Pay wasn't half bad and some times the lunches were decent

Cons

Lets be clear, Elementum is NOT a start up Per Nader's own words, Elementum has been around for awhile but never amounted to much. Almost the entire work force was laid off after years of supporting a garbage product. Then they attempted to re-invent themselves as a "supply chain" product. Within the yearish I was there it went from supply chain to a Service Now knock off and finally to piggy backing off of Snowflake to make themselves look like they are a legit data analytics company. And now "AI Driven Workflow"? These are just catchy words and phrases. It means nothing. Their product is garbage. Countless times you hear about big issues from big name customers and the "fix" was band aid on an gun shot wound. We were all told to log into the app store and give the app a 5 star rating, but it was just plain bad. The app is a glorified ticketing system. Add to it the relentless turn over. It seemed like once a week someone was fired and there was NEVER any plan in place to replace them. Within 1 month the main guy for software development was canned and then the director of engineering was gone, out of the blue, no warning. I ran all of the IT and was kept in the dark about most everything, including off boards. I was finally term'd after I turned down wanting to take on more work and roles without any additional pay in the engineering department. I am not an engineer and I did not want to be one, so I was let go. Fun story, Nader had the habit of just randomly showing up with new computers and I would literally be the last to know. There was a situation with a computer that we could not account for. This led to me having my final payouts being delayed for just about a month with absolutely no word from anyone from the company. I had to hound the HR rep almost weekly.
