Working remotely, you'd be surprised the friendships that can still form and the fun you can have. The team is amazing to work with. They are constantly trying to make things better and are open to feedback and trying new things. You feel heard and valued. There is built in flexibility and a really healthy understanding of how work fits into life, rather than the other way around. Communication in the day-to-day is open, honest, and effective.

Hours can be unpredictable and varied. As a freelancer, you don't have the typical guarantees of a traditional employee. As a counter, you get some more autonomy over your schedule.

The project manager and senior editors are very communicative and friendly. You're given feedback on your edits in the early days. The process is streamlined and straightforward once you get past the learning curve.

The tool for accepting work (you receive an email but have to open a separate form to fill in your name and download the files) isn't super intuitive, but after the first time or two, it's simple. Unfortunately you can't accept work on the go--you have to be at a computer to download the files, and you can't accept and then go back later to grab them.
