Pros

- Company just recently split off from Thomson Reuters and is currently backed by TPG, one of the best PE firms in the US. - Great Leadership Team - 100% remote - Company has a solid hold on the legal-tech market, so the future is bright - Moving towards cutting edge technology via the move to the cloud for 3E - Solid compensation (base + bonus + benefits + employer match on 401k) - Home Office Allowance Stipend

Cons

The company went from thousands of employees at TR to <500 overnight on Jan 1, so there are some growing pains. This is great for some people who want to have ownership and autonomy to get stuff done, but not for everyone.

Cons

Summary: A frustrating experience defined by micromanagement, poor internal communication, and a culture that set employees up to fail rather than succeed. The Work Itself The role of Collection Manager carries real responsibility — managing client relationships, following up on accounts, and maintaining the flow of communication. In theory, this sounds like a position with autonomy and purpose. In practice, it was anything but. Management Style My direct manager exercised complete control over every aspect of the job, leaving little to no room for independent decision-making. Rather than providing guidance and support, management effectively tied my hands, making it impossible to do the job efficiently or effectively. This type of micromanagement doesn't just slow things down — it signals a fundamental lack of trust and creates a demoralizing work environment. Internal Communication One of the most significant operational failures at Elite Technology was the near-total breakdown of internal communication. Emails routinely went unanswered by colleagues across the organization. When your role depends on timely responses and cross-departmental coordination, this lack of responsiveness is not just an inconvenience — it is a serious obstacle to doing your job well. Client-Facing Challenges Responding to clients professionally and promptly requires internal support. When that support is absent, client relationships suffer through no fault of the person in the role. Being placed in a position where you are expected to deliver results externally while being denied the resources and cooperation needed internally is both professionally untenable and deeply unfair. Culture The overall environment was toxic. There was little sense of collaboration, accountability, or mutual support among staff. Those who did want to do good work were consistently hampered by the dysfunction around them.
