Pros

-you get to meet lots of interesting people and maybe even make some friends -most students were nice

Cons

-misleading job description and need to act as a TOUR GUIDE (sometimes with big groups over 100 students), which wasn't mentioned in interviews -there is no practical training and you are being asked to lead a group of students on a historical tour. You need to figure it out yourself which means studying the history and planning out travel routes in an unfamiliar city, often times last minute -disorganized schedules and miscommunication: things changed and not updated in the system, unclear instructions etc. -unpaid time adds up: teachers are asked to pick the kids up, walk them places BEFORE your paid shift starts/or AFTER it ends -hours are not stable, like promised. Contract states 35-40 hours. Some weeks I only had 17 hours per week, others had 55 hours in one week. -need to pick students up in the airport, sometimes as late as 1:00 or 2:00 in the early morning It's difficult to determine if it was worth it.

Pros

Work with international students and group leaders, very rewarding. There is always something to do.

Cons

They don´t pay overtime to managers, while they make them work long hours, even 7 days a week. No job security. They terminated a person from the management team on the spot, with no warning, after they brought up genuine concerns about work conditions. Accommodation in a dorm in a very small room with no proper air ventilation.
