Pros

good benefits, day-to-day people are good to work with.

Cons

Not a PA friendly practice, you end up having to perform urgent care on call duties in addition to your role in orthopedics, lots of nepotism, no structure or real chain of command so you don't know who to report to or request help from, lots of turnover. Very conservative organization, did not require staff to be vaccinated against COVID 19 due to upper management not wanting to be vaccinated, not much diversity in upper management or in docs/PAs. Entire C suite left within a year minus one person. The on-the-floor staff are great, especially those who have been there for years, but upper and middle management are out of touch and prefers to remain aloof. They project this "we are a family" attitude, and this is not the case.

Pros

Able to pick up extra shifts for extra cash. Work life balance is not bad if you work with a surgeon who respects your time. Decent PTO and benefits.

Cons

Bonus is structured heavily towards PAs seeing patients, you lose out if you work in the OR. Management is awful, they have no idea what’s going on, yet try to micromanage. If you work for a good doctor who respects you and your time, it makes working there tolerable.
