Leadership and C-level executives will tell you everything is fine and your team is doing a really great job, growing in terms of sales and revenue, etc., only for you to later find out most of the team will be laid off. This shows that: 1) Leadership has NO CLUE what's going on 2) They do know what's happening but lack of direction 3) They do know what's happening, know where to go, but are not transparent with you It doesn't really matter which of the 3 we're talking about. All of them are BAD. Additionally, they reward very young, inexperienced and TOXIC people with leadership roles, when they clearly have no leadership skills and are unable to mentor/coach their teams. This does not apply to all teams and I had different experiences, but the fact that there's no consistency is also negative.
