Pros

The pay is pretty good for a new grad. New grad classes are great. You don’t have to draw your own labs. Handful of great and kind people whom I enjoyed working with.

Cons

No teamwork No support, especially from management Cannot learn IV skills right of the bat b/c they have an IV team; you must get certified before starting your own IVs Toxic environment- tons of gossip 90% of the tech’s only do the bare minimum (vitals) and do not coordinate with RN Very chaotic and short staff all the time More than half the staff were travelers when I first started, now contracts aren’t being renewed and management is having trouble finding AND keeping staff Extremely outdated equipment, hard to find a computer that WORKS everyday I would not recommend this floor for a new grad unfortunately- at least not on day shift

Pros

Pay and benefits are good

Cons

Leadership needs significant improvement. Promotions often appear to be based more on personal relationships than on experience, qualifications, or selecting the best candidate for the position. Leadership also fails to adequately address bullying and toxic workplace behavior, allowing it to continue unchecked. As a result, many locations feel disorganized and chaotic due to inconsistent leadership, poor communication, and a lack of accountability.
