Pros

In some cases there can be generous professional development opportunities and especially excellent FSAP benefits. It's a beautiful campus to work on, and there are always interesting programs happening every week.

Cons

Below-market pay, above average classicism and lack of opportunity for those who are "non-classified staff." Emory is a place that is excellent for a first gig, but terrible for long-term career growth in most (not all units), as there is a culture of not promoting from within. In many units, the success is based on skill and not behavior - which results in toxic, silo workplace culture.
