Pros

Working with kids with autism, which is rewarding but sometimes challenging.

Cons

Admin is lazy, hypoctical and cliquey. Fine if they like you but if they don't like you they will make an excuse to get rid of you, regardless of how good you are and how much your peers and clients like you.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with Empower Behavioral Health. We're truly grateful that you found meaning in the work we do—supporting children with autism is at the heart of everything we strive for, and we recognize how both rewarding and challenging that work can be. We’re also sorry to hear that your experience with the administrative team at your location left you feeling unsupported. We take all feedback seriously, especially when it comes from former team members who have worked directly with our clients and families. At Empower, we are continually working to improve internal communication, foster professional growth, and maintain a positive and respectful work culture across all clinics. Any concerns related to fairness, communication, or team dynamics are important to us, and we use feedback like yours to reflect and take meaningful action. Pros

You really do get to empower patients to reach their potential and help them learn the skills needed to be the most successful in whatever environment they plan to go to after us. Seeing patients finally get that one thing they have been working on or be successful at something that once caused challenging behaviors is life changing. One thing the job has taught me is to appreciate the small things. The work life balance is great, no weekends and off by 4 every evening. Several scheduled days off throughout the year. There is always support from senior leadership. I am in constant communication with my director supervisor and they are always there to support me through new situations and answer my questions as they arise. I don’t feel like senior leadership is unavailable to me and I have had several times when I requested meetings with senior leadership and have had the opportunity to voice my concerns to them. We do a lot of fun things within the company to help build a fun culture. Some of my favorites are the fantasy football league and door decorating competitions.

Cons

Most of things that could be considered cons are more having to adjust my own perspective on the situation. I can’t say everyday is easy because there are days that are really hard but the hard days have taught me the most and when I look back at each of them, they have shaped the clinician I am today.
