Pros
Flexibility in rostering Average /above average pay Good travel benefits/inclusions
Cons
- it’s a lot of mind numbing pain management - Illegal/unethical practices (they make you sign off work you didn’t do - “there’s no such thing as a refusal!”) - you are expected to do whatever the aged care facility wants you to do and it completely devalues your clinical autonomy and opinion - As casual full time I would lose nearly all of my hours when they were intermittently well staffed but then they basically beg you to pick up shifts again when staffing is low. Despite wanting full time hours all along. They give priority to their cheapest workers and could not care less about loyalty or experience - the ‘managers’ are mostly inexperienced and useless - no real possibility of upward mobility unless you want to be a manager and basically just do pain management all day every day + managerial duties on top - they are secretive about pay grades and bonuses and inclusions etc - you cannot discuss salary with your colleagues - over the years they’ve corporatised so you’re always signing policies to absolve Encara of any responsibility and so it’s on you. - you pretty much have 0 support and usually no colleagues - feels like a faceless company nowadays
