It has become more of a nursing home/palliative care environment. This is a rehabilitation hospital. The people who are coming in as patients need to be able to withstand 3 hrs of therapy a day. Encompass has been accepting patients who "don't have anywhere else to go" or need to be in hospice. This is the consensus among a large portion of the staff. We are trained to be Rehab nurses/therapists. Not long term care or hospice nurses.
