Pros

The company is growing fast in many countries around the world and investing heavily in renewables and new innovative technologies. The average age of the colleagues is relatively low, so it's mostly a young and open environment. There are many opportunities to travel and to get to know other cultures.

Cons

The company suffers from many "bad habits" from the time it was a public monopoly: bureaucracy, slow reactions, inefficient processes, old-fashioned mindset. Some consider it an honour to work here. For a multinational company, the mix of people in the HQ is quite mono-cultural. At times organisation seems chaotic and internal communication confused. Too frequent changes in management. Poor management of people (from selecting new employees to training). Wages are considered good, but not in line with the cost of life in Rome. The offices are in dire need of modernising. Finally, the selection process for certain positions is not transparent, raising questions of meritocracy.

That I came in as a contractor rather than a full time employee under Enel. I only got paid hourly with no benefits
