Pros

Engadget's comprised of some extremely talented people. The atmosphere is engaging and the hours are flexible.

Cons

My biggest issue? AOL, which is now owned by Verizon. Communications between upper and lower management have deteriorated immensely since my first year with the company. Second biggest issue? Engadget's editorial direction is shifting from technology to mainstream culture, just like all the others. Many of it's features are now more liberal media than anything.

Pros

The pay, hours and encouragement is great

Cons

Some of the editors are the least effective people I’ve ever worked with. They will take stories and completely rewrite them to a standard no one can uphold that you’re supposed to somehow psychically determine. They waste tons of time rewriting stories simply because they want to write them and you get blamed with the wasted time.
