Pros
In Zhangjiagang the teaching community was good and teachers were respected and listened to (though sometimes overruled in the interests of sales. There is training for new teachers and a good introduction to a tough job.
Cons
It's not the easy no-work, no-paperwork job many expect-- it can be a good job, but if you are expecting to do almost no work you will be sorely disappointed. There is very poor communication. In the bigger school in Zhangjiagang teachers are respected and listened to. But in the smaller school in Changshu teachers are ignored. No one listens to teaching-based concerns, always deferring to the sales department. And the local teachers don't communicate with the foreign teachers. Everything important happens in Chinese, and no one bothers to translate for the foreigners who only speak English. ***I have only seen this particular problem in Changshu***
