Pros

Diverse and welcoming culture. Supervisors encourage creativity and free thinking. Research assistants not given simply busy work. Great experience for future jobs.

Cons

No cons specifically but some practices that were unique and confusing to some. These practices contribute to culture but may have seem like waste of time to others.

Pros

Entire staff is welcoming, fun, and supportive. The mission and potential of the company and its employees was encouraging and exceptional in comparison to what I expected for my first internship. Everyone felt they had the opportunity to make an impact at any time. Management made clear what was expected and also understood the limitations of an unpaid intern's commitment.

Cons

The environment within a start-up involves fast-paced and sporadic task management. This made work difficult when objectives seemed to often change. In addition, the hunt for investment and early adopters of the product in development seemed to overshadow the research and development, likely a consequence of the phase the company had been in at the time.

Pros

Great team of people. A lot of extremely valuable on the job learning. They help amplify the skills you have. Challenging without being too exhausting

Cons

The interns make up over half the staff, and for the amount of work they contribute are not paid. Glad it wasn't just a "grad-some-coffee" internship, but should definitely provide some sort of financial support to interns.
