Cons
This is my first Glassdoor review, which shows how compelled I am to warn others off working here if you value your mental health. Ennismore has numerous internal challenges which has contributed to a toxic work environment. One significant issue is the lack of strategic and collaborative leadership, resulting in unattainable deadlines and a sense of failure across the team. Specialists' input is often not considered, exacerbating frustrations and hindering any chance of achievable goals. The presence of dominant personalities with excessive control causes internal tensions, and can regularly completely derail projects. Controlling and at times aggressive behaviour from some longstanding colleagues further impacts the work environment, raising questions about the company's commitment to fostering a healthy atmosphere. Promotions into leadership roles without sufficient training compound these problems, placing undue pressure on individuals who aren't equipped to navigate and handle the complex challenges. The Executive team's apparent lack of empathy became painfully evident during a tragic event when the team was left to navigate grief without adequate consideration or compassion. The company culture has an air of superiority, with an emphasis on brand status over employee well-being. This mentality contributes to burnout and high turnover rates, with some team members forced to take sick leave to cope with stress. In summary, without significant changes to its leadership approach and company culture, Ennismore will struggle to retain talent.
