Pros
Before COVID hit, EO provided incredible opportunities to travel the world and experience different cultures. Working at EO, you are immersed in fun, dynamic projects that allow you to stretch and grow. Members pay thousands of dollars to be a part of the organization and gain access to their offerings. As a staff member, you are able to gain access to the same content as you're working to develop it. It's pretty incredible! I have certainly grown as a person when I worked at EO--there's no question about that.
Cons
While working at EO has lots of pros, there are also many, many cons. EO does not pay their staff fairly. Their salary offerings are WAY below industry averages. When leadership is confronted, we get a canned response that "we're a non-profit, so ... sorry" ... meanwhile, the organization spends millions to appease member leaders on futile projects--many of them that go nowhere. The leadership structure at EO is messy which causes immense inefficiency across the entire organization. Staff are constantly confused about their roles and lack the support and direction they need to be productive and successful--this is a serious problem at the organization.
