Pros

-Training was a lot of fun, the instructors really knew what they were doing and it was my fave part of my experience with Envoy. - Most of the coworkers are sooo nice, even the people who have been there for many years are helpful to newer flight attendants and the union will always have your back. -Shawna in crew scheduling (DFW) is awesome and should be a model to the other schedulers to have some compassion in stressful situations. - the 175 plane is really nice and we are getting some awesome overnights on the plane lately. :) - They support commuters and are the only airline that will provide you with 4 free hotel nights in base to help you save money on a crash pad or other places to say. SOOO nice! -passengers of American Airlines are so nice. I rarely ever had encounters with rude or demanding passengers. -it is easy most of the time to choose the days off you want and move your schedule around.

Cons

My time on reserve has been horrible. - the pay is just horrible. I made average $1600 a month after taxes, which some people can live on but I cannot. You only get paid for 75 flight hours even though you can be at the airport for hours and hours unpaid- but this is most airlines. -Crew scheduling will work you to death even if there are plenty of available reserve flight attendants. Working 5-6 flights on the small 140/145 plane should be illegal, but especially in Dallas in the summer when the planes are 100 degrees inside and we are wearing wool uniforms. -The union cares more about the flight attendants than management does, and management and crew scheduling will look for any reason to penalize you or fire you for littlest things when life happens. -it is super intimidating to call in sick even when you are feeling terrible and do not want to be sick in front of passengers. They give you “points” for calling in sick that lead to termination even if you have a doctors note as proof you were in the hospital.
