Pros

This job hires new grads of all majors. On the implementation services team you get to travel a lot which I like - I got lucky with my customer's location. You get experience working with high level people on the customer side which has given me experience working with people at all levels of the hospital. They let you schedule your vacation days whenever you want regardless of how long you have been there.

Cons

The cons really depend on what application you are assigned to, project team, and your customer. Application: all the apps have their own management and vibe, work expectations, raises, and management styles. Project team: you could have an application manager that has done 10 installs before or it could be their first install since they became an application manager. Your customer: your customer could have an IT staff that struggles with basic excel functions or their analyst install team could be well resourced with Epic consultants. My point is that your experience greatly depends on a bunch of factors that are out of your hands - and if you are unlucky you might be stuck in that situation and have to work significant overtime. Some cons that I experienced: - A lot of the tasks associated with Implementation Services work are genuinely not that challenging but dramatic members of the project team and indirect directions make them into challenging tasks. - I am not a fan of the feedback culture: we are supposed to submit anonymous forms about each other to our managers. For me I would much rather if someone told me directly how they think that I could improve rather than telling my manager who will tell me in a month or so.
