Pros
Fun travel opportunities, work with a team of intelligent young people, and it makes every other job you'll have seem fun and easy in comparison
Cons
Where to start? Frankly, I wanted to love it. The buildings are fun, the food is great, and they tout a young workforce. But the culture is toxic - retaliation amongst the ranks, a management team made of people barely out of college, and leadership that's out of touch with reality. I'm still in Madison, and their Covid response has been dismal. I'm glad I got out when I did, as I'm watching friends who still work there be expected to come in and travel to their customers around the U.S.. Personally, I left because 60 hour work weeks with no overtime and a 50% travel culture wasn't sustainable for me. I was getting burnt out after my first year, and held on another 6 months before throwing in the towel. I didn't meet a single person without a quitting plan. And after Covid, I'll be interested to see how many they hold onto in their work force. If you're reading this to look for a sign, I'd say don't worry, there's so many other Dev and PM roles in Madison, and it can't hurt to explore your options.
