Pros

very generous compensation important fulfilling work solid onboarding / continued learning (actual trainer run classes)

Cons

can be high stress can be very demanding for a first job out of college. a lot of people are young at epic and people who know their domain like the back of their hand seem scarce can feel like a code monkey My experience developing has felt very individualistic and lacked the collaboration that can make it more fun lack of strong work from home options uses old languages (mumps)/methods of development that are very epic specific

Pros

Impact: You are part of creating systemic level change for healthcare organizations. You get to be on site and work directly with providers and see how these changes impact their communities. People: Extremely smart and capable. I feel like I can rely on my team in a way I haven't at previous employers. New hires are entry level, so there's a strong community for people in a similar stage of life. Culture: Quirky but in a real, unique way. People are collaborative and celebrate shared accomplishments. The campus enshrines a very specific (and fun!) vibe. Location: Madison is awesome. Benefits: The health insurance is unparalleled. Sabbatical is a super cool perk too. Growth: A lot of autonomy and responsibility allows people to rise to the challenge. Stability: Solid industry, no lay-offs.

Cons

Remote work flexibility: 5 days a year
