Pros

Supportive and hardworking team who consistently go above and beyond to meet demanding expectations. Friendly overall company culture, with regular social events and a good work-life balance — though this balance isn’t always experienced equally across all departments.

Cons

Lack of meaningful or constructive feedback. Positive contributions are rarely acknowledged, while minor issues are disproportionately focused on, often in a personal rather than professional tone. Limited communication from management regarding larger projects, leaving team members unclear on priorities and expectations. Efficiency is often penalised with repetition — if you’re good at something, you may be expected to do it indefinitely without opportunities to grow or diversify. In contrast, tasks like cleaning and sample organisation are routinely delegated to junior staff, even when a studio assistant is present. No clear progression pathway. Management appears more focused on their own goals than the development of junior team members. The role is physically intense, with long days on your feet and little accommodation for rest or recovery. Team workloads are unevenly distributed, with noticeable favouritism and imbalanced expectations contributing to burnout and low morale. Junior team members are frequently told they’re not ready for larger responsibilities, yet are expected to perform at a senior level when convenient for management. Senior team members are not always respected for their tenure or input. Most decisions are influenced by personal bias rather than collaborative leadership. Micromanagement and a lack of trust in the team’s autonomy create a toxic environment where burnout is common and feedback is rarely framed in a developmental way.
