Pros

1) Benefits. Health insurance was 5% of your doctor or hospital bill. That may have changed. 2) Pay

Cons

1) Coworkers lacked training 2) I was one of the few outside hires. Erie likes you to train there way so all you know is what Erie teaches you. 3) Old boys club. Either management likes you or you go thru hell. 4) Do not want to learn other then the "Erie Way". Do not recognize AIC or CPCU 5) Those working there are not hirable in Claims to another company as all your taught is Erie Policies. (I was working for a company before that encouraged training outside the door) 6) Really surprised the company was not sued more often as they did not know there own polices they were selling. In the time I worked there I found coverages they had deined to Insureds for years. Example hidden damage. 7) Never worked for a company where your supervisor did not know what a DP-1 DP-2 or DP-3 and HO-1 HO-2 or HO-3. Lack of training other then the Erie way. 8) Turn over was great. I worked out of my house. Every Friday they would send out an E-mail that so & so are no longer employed. A couple minutes latter an e-mail on the new door codes. Only 90 people worked out of the E Peoria Office. In the 2 years there other than upper management I think there was a total change of Employees. 9) Minorities might as well forget about Erie. It was white as snow in there. I noticed that the first day I worked there. I made a comment to my Field Supervisor about that. He said that the problem was the testing policies (as you apply you have to take extensive personality tests, Insurance related tests and company is big on background check's) so you better have lived a straight and Narrow life to get in. I was white and what helped me was I was the only hire at that time that aced the insurance quiz that I took during my first interview. Had a total of 3 interviews. Started in Feb - July was hired to start in Nov of that year. 10) Takes forever to fill a Vacant territory (See above). 11) While on the subject of territories expect to travel up to 200 miles for one claim. One way as I never seen them use an Independent Adjuster. The Travel was the reason I left and went to another company.

Pros

Good benefits that’s about it

Cons

You have to be a robot to get a yearly raise worth anything. They don’t really care about the employees you’re just a number. In training, they make you feel like it’s gonna be more than that but after you’re done, absolutely not. That’s how they get you and they start you out at pretty good money and you really don’t make much from there unless like I said you’re a robot. Supervisors don’t care, director doesn’t care, unless you’re a robot. Not the vibe for 2026. Don’t be swindled, Corporate life is not fun unless you want to be a zombie robot like all the high ups and who really wants that?
