Pros

Working at this company as a developer has been an experience marred by numerous drawbacks. From the very beginning, it became apparent that the management had little regard for the well-being of employees. One glaring example of this was the company's refusal to run the air conditioner during night shifts. Imagine being a developer working late into the night, trying to concentrate in a stiflingly hot office because the company didn't consider it worthwhile to provide a comfortable working environment. Requests for the AC were met with dismissive responses, like "We can't run the AC for just one person." It's not just about comfort; it's about productivity and employee health, which this company seems to ignore. Another major issue at this company is the constant pressure to deliver work ASAP, regardless of the time. You could receive a call from higher authorities at any hour, demanding that you complete tasks urgently. It's as if the company name is an acronym for "Always Stressful and Pressured" (ASAP). The relentless urgency negatively impacts work-life balance and overall job satisfaction. Furthermore, favoritism within the organization is blatant. If a project requires collaboration with colleagues in the USA, it's astonishing how some individuals, often labeled as the boss's favorites, can unilaterally decide to place certain employees on the night shift. This arbitrary decision-making fosters a hostile work environment and leaves employees feeling powerless in their careers. During the annual increment period, a dark cloud of office politics descends upon the company. Instead of evaluating employees' performance objectively, they seem to start counting the company's losses as if every pay raise is a detriment. This toxic approach to compensation discussions leaves employees feeling undervalued and underappreciated. Communication within the technical department is another colossal issue. It's primarily limited to email exchanges, which often devolve into lengthy back-and-forths. The lack of clear face-to-face communication stifles collaboration and hinders productivity. It's frustrating to see such a reliance on email when more effective communication methods are available. While the company does have standard operating procedures (SOPs) in place, these are often just pieces of paper. The higher authorities manipulate the SOPs according to their convenience, rendering them ineffective. Instead of following established guidelines, decisions are made arbitrarily, making it challenging to predict how the company will respond to various situations. Adding to the frustrations, the company's approach to salary discussions is baffling. When it comes to increasing your salary, they refuse to discuss figures, leaving you in the dark about your financial future. However, if they want you to make a purchase or decision, they expect you to take the initiative and become the fall guy if anything goes wrong. It's a double standard that reeks of manipulation. One of the most disheartening aspects of the workplace culture is the preference for English speakers. If you're fluent in English, you're automatically considered more intelligent, regardless of your actual skills and contributions. This bias undermines the talents and potential of non-English speakers, fostering an atmosphere of discrimination. In the technical department, obtaining necessary equipment is a constant struggle. Tech teams often find themselves without essential tools like laptops or mice. This not only impedes their ability to work efficiently but also highlights the company's lack of investment in its technical infrastructure.

Cons

Despite these significant negatives, there are a few positive aspects of the company that deserve recognition. The cafeteria facilities are commendable, offering a variety of food options to employees. This adds a touch of convenience to the workday, allowing employees to enjoy a meal without leaving the premises. The company's commitment to environmental sustainability is evident through its efforts to create an amebiant workplace. The use of energy-efficient lighting and recycling initiatives showcase a dedication to reducing the company's ecological footprint. Regarding seating arrangements, the company does provide comfortable workspaces, ensuring employees have ergonomically designed desks and chairs. This attention to physical comfort is appreciated in an otherwise challenging work environment. One redeeming feature is the presence of genuinely nice people within the organization, especially when interacting face-to-face. While communication via email may be frustrating, in-person interactions reveal a friendlier side to many colleagues. These individuals can make the workplace more tolerable by offering support and camaraderie when it's needed most. Lastly, it's worth noting that occasional support is available when needed. Although the support may not be consistent, there are instances where colleagues and superiors step in to assist with projects or tasks, contributing to a sense of teamwork within the organization.
