Pros

I started at EthicalJobs just before a big growth period and got to build close relationships with some fantastic people. My highlights come from the wonderful teammates I had and the great clients that did such amazing work. The companies approach to covid and resistance to letting staff go was also appreciated.

Cons

One if the biggest challenges I faced was not being heard. We entered a busy period and my team was understaffed and we were all getting burnt out. We would constantly ask for solutions, such as paid overtime (which was never approved despite myself and teammates working many hours of overtime), or a TOIL policy, or more staff. The CEOs solution was 'mindfulness' until enough pressure built that more staff were hired. During this period, when we were working from home, there was a distrust from management to staff. Our output was closely monitored and questions would be raised if it was thought we weren't working hard enough. Our work was also monitored by the CEO, who would bring non-issues to us and make mountains out of molehills causing undue stress for the team. Additionally, we were also monitored during zoom meetings. If it was thought we weren't paying attention (by looking at the screen for the duration of the meeting) then you were called out, either in front of everyone, or in another meeting. I would expect this behaviour from a large corporate, but our line of work and company name imbued in me a belief that we could do better. The company structure is very set and hierarchical as nothing gets done without CEO approval and requests are made via your line manager. I understand others may have a different experience, but that just reveals the bias that exists within the company's internal structure and what work is truly valued.

Pros

Everyone beneath GM level is actually super smart and amazing at their jobs, or, they would be if they were left to get one with them

Cons

A really miserable place to work mainly due to being a dictatorship. No room for creativity or difference of opinion. CEO is a textbook bully and every single staff members struggles working with him. GMs wouldn't dare challenge him on a single thing, they just agree and parrot whatever he says. The three of them always say about glassdoor - every bad review is a 'disgruntled employee', no bad feedback is real, its an amazing place to work. I promise you, all these reviews are real. Except the five star ones!

Pros

WFH, Direct team members, Salary, client problem solving

Cons

A very diifficult organisation to describe working with..it has such potential to be an absolutely amazing place to work. But falls drastically short when it comes to valuing team feedback, strategic thinking or change, micromanagement, and even some slight cases of work place bullying..all of which are spearheaded by the founder and yes-men management. I can see the validity from most of the prior reviews and know most of their cirumstance and agree with them.
