You applied for a Senior Software Engineer role, and upon the interviews being concluded by our Technical Leaders, we decided that your level of skill was more aligned with our Software Engineer role. We always look at what the right role for the candidate is and in this situation, we would have been happy to offer you a Software Engineer role. However, as this is a lower level than a Senior, the salary will also be lower as I'm sure you can understand. So this is where there was a mismatch in your expectations versus what we were willing to offer. I'm sure in years to come you will look back on this and understand the situation better.
