Pros
Work benefits are great. Salaries are quite high for entry level positions, and maybe less attractive for high level positions in comparison with the private market. Teleworking: ECB people complain a lot, but with 120 days of teleworking (of which 90 can be in another EU country and 20 outside of the EU) the TW benefits are great. Other benefits: health insurance worldwide, fitness. Depending the Business Area the atmosphere can be collaborative or very toxic.
Cons
extremely lack of transparency towards personnel from senior leaders: this creates a polarization and lack of confidence from staff. Everyone is complaining and reinforces a toxic environment Instability of contracts and lack of transparency regarding contracts: entry level contract are most of the time very temporary (not only Short terms, but also fixed term for a year), creating not only a huge amount of stress but also competition among colleagues, while very old employees with permanent contracts only complain about how glorious the ECB used to be in the past
