Pros

-free waxing for the waxers

Cons

-never allowed to take time off unless the owners favor you. -incredibly high turnover rate. -they overbook you and get mad when you run over on time/ purposely don't block out enough time on your book so that you can take as many guests as you can to make them their money. -pay structure changed at the franchise 4 times while I worked there. -sales goals constantly raised to make it impossible to reach bonus for pay period. -no break room for waxers, and the waxers were scolded like children if in the lobby at any times. -no vacation or sick days. -team meetings consisted of the owner throwing 4 $100 bills at the ground and scolding/demeaning the waxers for not hitting sales goals.... -impossible to do a 15 minute brazilian on a morbidly obese guest, or a super hairy one. -due to low prices people don't tip, or will tip $1 for their service/s. -some guests come in drunk/high and the front desk still sends them back, regardless of the fact that they drove over to EWC, and are a threat to the waxer/s. -8-9 hour shift with no breaks or times allowed to eat. -the "free wax" sign attracts filthy cheap people from off the street who abuse the promotion and never come back. -having to wipe fecal matter out of guest's crack for the rear-strip wax... -dealing with filthy people who have no personal hygiene whatsoever, especially their private parts. -they will literally hire anyone, including people with a criminal background for the front desk -tips get stolen from bad GS and nothing gets done about it..

Pros

Great coworkers, supportive team environment, loyal clients, and valuable opportunities to develop professional skills.

Cons

I’d like to raise some concerns about communication and fairness. We are asked to communicate everything, yet often our messages go unanswered or are met with a negative attitude. There is also a sense of favoritism in time-off approvals. Last-minute scheduling changes have disrupted my plans due to lack of notice. I’ve been incorrectly scheduled due to miscommunication, and I’ve had intense shifts without reasonable breaks. Additionally, our manager consistently arrives later than anyone, often when clients are waiting to pay, yet she gives attitude to others for minor delays. On top of that, product management is often last-minute. We run out of supplies like products, creams, or paper, and it only gets addressed when urgent, forcing us to scramble between rooms. I’m bringing these concerns forward because I hope for a more consistent, supportive, and equitable work environment for all of us.
