Pros
-Friendly interview process
-Remote opportunity
Cons
I was hired for a part-time role after clearly communicating my availability from the beginning. This was explicitly confirmed as acceptable, and I signed a contract and began onboarding.
After signing, additional technical requirements were shared that had not been mentioned earlier. During onboarding, I was questioned in an accusatory tone about not meeting those requirements. I then spent several days troubleshooting setup issues and was ultimately advised to purchase a new laptop to comply. This time and expense were not compensated.
Communication throughout the process was slow and inconsistent, often requiring multiple follow-ups just to receive updates or schedule system checks.
Interview and onboarding scheduling was also confusing at times, as verbally agreed meeting times did not always match the calendar invites, creating last-minute adjustments.
There were also several concerning administrative and privacy issues, including receiving emails intended for other candidates that contained their information, candidate details being mixed up (including my location), and being asked to share my private screen/personal notes during calls.
After several weeks and completing onboarding steps, I was informed (again, after repeatedly reaching out to them for an update) that they would only move forward with full-time candidates — despite part-time availability having been agreed upon before hiring and after a contract had already been signed.
Overall, the process felt disorganized, unprofessional, and resulted in significant unpaid time and personal expense.
