Pros
The youth are great. Better pay than most of that youth shelters as far as I know, benefits, decent amount of sick/personal time.
Cons
TOXIC. Management staff relationship is awful. Management consistantly over rules front line. Makes it difficult to do the job as the youth start to not take you seriously. Management/HR does not take staff concerns seriously. Management constantly undermines staff which makes staff feel like they are not capable of doing their job. Confidence is eroded to the point that staff can no longer support the youth in the best because management has broken them down to shells of their former selves. Even though Pay is decent staff turnover is absolute rediculous to the point where people still training/in probation period are training new staff. Which is a train wreck. There is no consistency among staff because supervision is severely lacking which makes it difficult for staff and confusing for the youth. Such a shame. Staff are constantly stressed out and burnt out due to treatment from management/hr, and it's the youth that suffer. This place is unionized. But honestly the union has no teeth which is just sad. Management/HR and even management are willing to lie about staff if they push back too much unfortunately say it happen to a few of my former colleagues.
