Pros

Salary and benefits are good. There are genuinely good people at the company

Cons

While some of the people at Even are great, the culture enabled by upper management leads to a toxic workplace, making it a difficult place to work unless you are one of the "favorites." Unfortunately, the other reviews about verbal and emotional abuse are accurate. It permeates the company to the point where the behavior is normal. It even happens in front of HR, and they do nothing about it. I was constantly told to "just ignore it" and that "it's like this everywhere" but this advice provided little comfort. Please stay away from this place if you value your mental health.

Pros

The company really has a major opportunity in front of it, and is addressing or has addressed a lot of the operational challenges that were making some of its strategic goals (new products and industries, more or less) difficult to realize. The product is solid, could use some polish, but the technology is excellent and the use cases are broad and valuable. Leadership is highly regarded in the industry. Culturally, for the most part it's a fun place to work. The people are extremely bright, funny, and interesting. There are a lot of big personalities, which can sometimes crowd out quieter voices, but for the most part that makes things fun. They've embraced remote work as well as anyone else, as far as I can tell -- the post-covid transition was seamless.

Cons

The company's culture is confrontational. To a point, this is actually far more beneficial than harmful. However, some people, in particular among leadership, are given a lot of leash in this regard, even to the point of tolerating vindictiveness. I think the company is taking steps to address this, and it is not a widespread issue, but it is a challenge.
