Pretty laid back, it's been good for me, but maybe not for everyone - Contractor Everforth Apex Systems Employee Review

Pros

Very helpful Apex team; I've never had an issue with questions, concerns with clients, or getting moved to a new client in a reasonable amount of time. They pay can be competitive dependent on the client you're working for. They're extremely helpful in preparing you for client interviews and ensuring you have all that you'd reasonably need when rolling on and off clients. They offer some benefits, and PTO pay, which is very nice when you're operating in what feels something like a hybrid between freelancing and consulting. Working with Apex is really what you make it, they're not going to stand in your way or cause you any undo frustration, but your clients might, so be sure this is the type of work you're looking for before signing on.

Cons

It's usually staff augmentation work, a client had a project with a looming deadline and they hire a few contractors to increase team velocity. I've never had any issues with my past clients(I've worked with three apex clients for over the past 3 years). If you need structure to get work done this is probably not the best situation for you, as most work is remote with less oversight than many similar roles.

Pros

- Ability to work remotely still, however I am not sure how long that will last for me. They are pushing people back into the office. Autonomy & Independence - Strong ability to self-direct and own responsibilities - Involvement in high-impact work - Broad responsibilities that build transferable skills

Cons

- I feel like my role was created without clear definition or long-term planning. I - Needed help with my workload and, despite repeated requests over the past year, I still haven't received any help - Increasing responsibilities without proportional salary growth - Bonus structure adjusted to be more difficult to achieve - Multiple internal teams laid off. Work transitioned to outsourced teams with lower perceived quality - Reduced sense of ownership and care from external/outsourced teams - Movement away from autonomy toward increased oversight - Reduced trust compared to earlier experience - Meeting Overload (“Meeting Fatigue”) - Uncertainty About Future State - Concerns around remote work longevity - Lack of clarity on role growth, support, and company direction
